What is Glyphosate:
- Glyphosate is the most widely used herbicide treatment used in the United States
- Glyphosate targets a wide range of weeds and invasive plants to help manage forests, pastures, farmland as well as public land & residential areas.
Recently the EPA has concluded its regulatory review of glyphosate and has determined that there are no human health risks associated with glyphosate and that it is not a carcinogen. These findings align with a number of other agencies across the globe including the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency, the Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicines Authority, the European Food Safety Authority, and the German Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
Forest landowners and forestland managers often use herbicide treatments to manage vegetation. A few examples may include:
- Vegetation interfering with forest regeneration
- Inundation of Invasive plant species
- Manage low commercial value trees
- Manage understory conditions
