We recently had the pleasure of meeting with Congressman Tom Reed, the US representative of the 23rd Congressional District of New York covering most of the Southern Tier. Congressman Reed and his District Director, Joe Sempolinski, were kind enough to visit with us at our corporate offices in Falconer, NY and spent the good part of an afternoon talking with us about FORECON, Inc. and the services we provide to landowners.

Recently communities around the northeastern United States have been faced with growing deer populations and seemingly endless deer inundating communities and affecting farmers. If left unchecked these deer populations will increase, compound the problems for people, and negatively affect the habitat for other wildlife.

Forest managers have many techniques and strategies at their disposal to help landowners meet their forest management goals. Each particular woodlot has its own unique characteristics and undoubtedly requires its own unique forest management prescription.

Although investing in timberland is certainly not a new concept, activities on Wall Street and in the pension fund world indicate that it continues to be a popular alternative investment.
