Joining the FORECON Team!
Peter Barron joined our team of GIS professionals building maps & working with forestry data in early May. We are happy to have him and look forward to working alongside him.
Pete graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Carleton College, focusing on hydrology and fluvial and coastal geomorphology. After graduation, he worked at the University of Delaware’s Coastal Sediments & Hydrodynamics Engineering Lab (CSHEL), working with remote sensing of environmental data using airborne and underwater robotic systems.
After leaving UD he joined the Student Conservation Association, serving for a year in the Hudson Valley at Greene County Soil & Water Conservation District in Cairo, NY. While there, he worked primarily in the Schoharie watershed management program, assisting with creating stream management plans, planting and monitoring forest riparian buffers, and providing GIS and data management support for NYCDEP and Greene County Soil & Water programs.
Pete is looking forward to learning more about all facets of the forestry industry while providing high quality maps and GIS support for FORECON.
